Villas Arqueológicas is indeed an enviable portfolio containing five delightful hacienda-style hotels located adjacent to, or in some cases within, the most significant and culturally astounding archeological sites in Mexico, three of which (Teotihuacán, Chichén Itzá and Uxmal) have been designated as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Chichén Itzá was also duly voted one of the 7 New Wonders of the World in 2007.
The five Properties, known as Villa Chichén Itzá, Villa Cholula, Villa Cobá, Villa Teotihuacán and Villa Uxmal, are strategically located within easy walking distance of these major Aztec and Mayan ruins. The five Villas were constructed in 1977 and totally refurbished in 2000. They are all of similar construction, having virtually identical guestroom sizes, public areas and amenities. Each Villa has between 42 and 45 guestrooms built around a central courtyard with lush gardens, a swimming pool and a terrace restaurant offering regional gastronomy.
